Born at Mormalle, 8 November
1900. Was CO of 2/1/2 when war broke out. Retreated to France
on 13 May 1940. Returned to Belgium when France capitulated.
Escaped to Great Britain via Spain on 31 March 1942 where he
arrived on January 4th, 1942. Send to 58 OTU (05/05/1942) after enlisted to
VR of the RAF (12/03/1942), he finally arrived at 350 Sqn on 8 July 1942.
On August, 27, 1942, a section of 350 Sqn, led by F/Lt du
Monceau de Bergendael, flew Circus 208, escorting a
dozen of Boston's to Abbeville, clashed with a group of
FW-190. Charlier was shot down and MIA.
