Son of Air Commodore Cresswell Turner and Norah Ethel Turner of Three Mile Cross Berkshire. Promoted F/O (war substantive) wef 9 January 44. Promoted F/Lt (war substantive) wef 9 July 45. Probable date of commissioning 9 July 43. Flew also with 610 Sqn. When this unit was disbanded, he joined 350 Squadron where he arrived on 18 March 1945. Shot down during  an Armed Recce. in the region Aschendorf - Meppen - Lingen and made POW. On 16th September 1946, he was killed whilst flying in Spitfire IX, MJ843 of the Fighter Command Communication Sqn, which crashed near Bovington after the port wing and tailplane broke away during recovery from a loop.  He is buried in Hillingdon and Uxbridge Cemetery
