Limet was born at Gines on
October 10th, 1918. He was pupil at
the Flying School from the Aé Mil. Transferred to France and
Oujda, Morocco at the time of French capitulation, he escaped
to Great Britain, where he arrived on July 17th 1940. He
enlisted the VR of the RAF and was send for training. He
flew with the following units: 32 Sqn (26 July 1941), 234 Sqn
(7 November 1941) and arrived as LAC to 350 Sqn on 14 November
1941. Promoted to Sgt on 11 October 1942. He was then posted
to 171 Sqn (15 December 1942) where he got a conversion on
P-40 before arriving on 23 January 1943 to the newely formed
349 (Belgian) Squadron at Ikeja. promoted F/Sgt on 11 October
1943. He was taken POW on 28 April 1944, after his plane get a
problem with fuel change-over on a escort mission of B-26 to
Paris. He crash-landed west of the Seine. After the War he
Joined Sabena. He died in a plane crash (Sabena DC-4 00-CBE)
at Libenge (Former Belgian Congo) on May 13th
1946.
