Emile Plas was born at Koekelberg (Brussels) on 30 March 1918. He was a pupil at the Flying School of the A Mil when War broke out. He was evacuated to France and arrived at Oujda, Morocco at the time of the French capitulation. He escaped to Great Britain where he arrived on August 5th 1940. Here he enlisted in the Volunteer Reserve of the RAF (14 August 1940), and was sent to continue his flying training: 13 EFTS - Peterborough (8 November 1940), 5 SFTS (2 April 1941) and 58 OTU (10 July 1941).Posted in to 131 Sqn (30 August 1941), joined the newly formed 350 Sqn (17 November 1941) and finally flew with 610 Sqn where he arrived on March 13th 1943. He died in combat on 28 March 1943.
