Born on 7 July 1916 at Merchtem. Sergeant at the 2nd Regiment of the Aéronautique Militaire when the Germans invaded Belgium. Wounded on the first day, he was hospitalised till 20 December 1940. He evaded on 22 January 1941. Arrested in France, he was interned at Camp d'Agde (15 February 1941). Liberated on 24 February 1941, he arrived in Great-Brittain on 22 June 1941. Enlisted into the RAFVR as P/O on 22 August 1941 en started training. Joined 61 OTU on 9 December 1941 and was hospitalised a few days later, which he left on 4 February 1942 returning to the OTU. Posted to 124 Sqn, 28 April 1942 and 350 Sqn on 28 June 1942. Promoted to F/O on 22 August 1942. Left the unit, 9 November 1942 for a posting at 165 Sqn. Further postings saw him at RAF Station Kenley, 11 February 1943 where he got a promotion as F/Lt on 22 August 1943, 66 Sqn which he joined 8 November 1943, 2 Flying Instructor School, 9 Fenruary 1944, RAF College - SFTS, 30 June 1944, where he stayed till the End of War. He left the Air Force after the War. Died at Brussegem, 28 February 1998.
