Verbeeck was born at Schaarbeek (Brussels) on 20 August 1921. Escaped to Great Britain where he arrived on 28 Juni 1940. After the Air Crew Selection Board he flew with the following units : 350 Sqn (29 November 1942), 349 Sqn (12 June 1943), 66 Sqn (4 November 1943) and returned to 350 Sqn on 17 January 1944. Promoted W/O on 20 October 1944. He was posted at the Belgian Training School on 29 January 1945. Further postings saw him at the Central Gunnery School - Catfoss  (15 Apr 45) and RAF Newdon (18 Jul 45) He was discharged from RAF on 17 February 1946. He Joined the Union Minière du Haute Katanga (Belgian Congo) at end 1951.
