Born on 28 March 1920 at Ghent. Left Belgium on 13 May 1940 as Student, arriving in GB on 28 July 1940. Taken into force by FBGB on 19 August 1940. Enlisted into RAFVR on 7 August 1941. Started training on 15 September 1941, joining 5 ITW on 3 October 1941, 6 EFTS (20 December 1941), 22 SFTS (1 May 1942) and as Sergeant Pilot, 58 OTU (29 September 1942). Posted into 350 Sqn on 23 December 1942. Promoted F/Sgt on 17 June 1943, P/O 3 December 1943, F/O on 3 June 1944.On 22 November 1944 he got a perforation of a lung whilst flying at high altitude and was send to Royal Massonic Hospital-Loer ndon, where he stayed till 14 December 1944. Left 350 Sqn on 5 January 1945 for Belgian Rest and Leave Center, promoted F/Lt on 15 May 1945, joining the Belgian Training School on 31 January 1946. Demobilized on 16 May 1946.
